Valerie Gilson is a stained glass artist based in southeastern CT. She has been creating with art glass since 1987, using color, texture, symmetry, variety and balance to demonstrate how the its beauty can elicit a sense of appreciation and wonder. She is inspired by technical mastery and excellence in craftsmanship. To this end, Valerie’s work is often characterized by unique and innovative ways of hanging, framing and finishing to let the glass “be the star of the show”. Valerie is passionate about the healing power of creativity as evidenced by her pursuit of lifelong learning in this field and sharing her skills and knowledge through instruction. Valerie is the lead instructor of the stained glass studio at Spark Makerspace in New London, CT and teaches privately throughout the region.
